CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y. -- Julius A. "Homer" Phillips III, 55, of Chestnut Ridge, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Sunbury, Pa., and had lived in Chestnut Ridge since 1997.
Mr. Phillips was a graduate of Shikellamy High School, Sunbury.
Before retiring in June, he was a seafood manager with Stop & Shop for many years in Ridgewood and most recently in Wanaque.
Surviving are his beloved wife, the former Pamela Walden, of Chestnut Ridge; his loving mother, Mildred L. Phillips, of Sunbury; a loving brother, George Phillips and his wife Linda, of Sunbury; and his loving sister, Laura Everett, of Sunbury. He was a special uncle to Brittany Marie Everett and her son, Trey Devon. He also is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving father, Julius A. Phillips II, and his adoring sister, Anna Marie Flowers.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at United Lutheran Church, RR4 Sunbury, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 by the Rev. John E. Fenton.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to United Lutheran Church, RR4, Sunbury, PA 17801, or Trustees of Columbia University/Dr. Robert Fine, Pancreatic Research Fund, 650 W. 168th St., BB 20-05, New York, N.Y. 10032.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
