ROSEY - AGED 16(1863-1869)
GEORGE - AGED 7 (1862-1869)
IDA - AGED 2 YRS (1867-1869)
JULIAN'S HUSBAND,GEORGE(1819-1869) AND OLDEST SON, WILLIAM(1850-1869) WERE IN THE MINE WHEN IT COLLAPSED.
ACCORDING TO THE NEWSPAPERS DATED DEC 20,1869 - A COAL MINE CAVED IN FILLING THE SHAFT AND TUNNEL WITH MASSES OF EARTH,,CARRYING WITH IT TWO LARGE HOUSES DOWN WITH IT.SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE HOUSES AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WERE BURIED IN THE RUINS AND KILLED INSTATNTLY. TEN PERSONS LOST THEIR LIVES. THE HOUSES FELL A DISTANCE OF FORTY FEET.
*GEORGE SWANK AND HIS SON,WILLIAM ARE IN A MASS GRAVE WITH A MARKER WITH OTHERS CAUGHT IN THAT CAVE IN THE STOCKTON MINE CEMETERY.
