Guest Book for
Ruth T. Brown
November 14, 2006
I was shocked and saddened to learn of my Aunt Ruth’s passing. My family and I cry for her and for Uncle Bob as he lost his wife and best friend. Although we know she is happy and walking with our Lord right now, we can't help grieving for her.
Aunt Ruth was a special person who brightened my life. Happy, God fearing, gentle, polite, and giving. Growing up I spent many, many hours with her and Uncle Bob. Throughout my teen age years they treated me like their own child. We had many happy memories from vacations we took together, meals and homemade ice cream we shared, and simple times like a game of Rook with her and Uncle Earl. I will also cherish our quiet moments sitting together in church or just chatting on the porch.
I last visited with her this past Easter -what a blessing it was to talk with her again, visit her at home and worship right next to her in church. My grandson remembers her from that visit as being the most generous person he's ever met, she was always trying to give him treats. Perhaps that is what I too remember the most - her tremendous love and generosity to everyone she came into contact with. She certainly lived her life as our Lord wanted; Ruth was a shining example of a Godly woman. She was the lamp that helped to light my path.
Above all I give thanks for the life of a woman I am so proud to be able to call my Aunt, the unique, the extraordinary and irreplaceable Ruth. Our prayers go out to Uncle Bob and Marie.
