S. G. Wolf To be 92 Feb 11.
Samuel G. Wolf, 1277 Market Street, will observe his 92nd birthday anniversary on Thurs., Feb 11. Mr. Wolf, known to close friends as “Bert” is one of the city’s oldest residents.
He was born near Sunbury Feb. 11, 1873, and is a lifelong resident of the Sunbury area. Mr. Wolf was employed for many years as a cabinet maker and at Susquehanna Silk Mills. A resident of Sunbury for about 60 years, Mr. Wolf is the only living charter member of the Sunbury City Band. He was married to the former Ellen C. Schreffler, whose death in 1960 severed a martial union of over 60 years. The couple had one son, Charles L. Wolf, with whom he makes his home. In excellent health for his years, Mr. Wolf is able to walk about outside almost daily in good weather with the aid of a cane.
