Obituary The Daily Item -- Sunbury, PA

Mrs. Hornberger Succumbs, Aged 82

Mrs. Amelia Wolf Hornberger, widow of Irvin H. Hornberger, died at 7 p. m. Sunday [January 20, 1952] at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Phillips at Plum Creek. She was 82 years of age and was well known in the area. She had formerly resided in Sunbury. Her husband died April 11, 1948.
Mrs. Hornberger was born in Rockefeller township, August 20, 1869, the daughter of Reuben and Mary Hauck Wolf. She was a member of the Wolf’s Cross Roads Lutheran Church.
Surviving besides her daughter Mrs. Phillips, are two sons, Dolin E. Hornberger, Sunbury R. D. and Arthur S. Hornberger, Sunbury; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Weiser, Sunbury; a brother, Bertram Wolf, East Market St, this city, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Wirt funeral home, Cliftmont, at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday. Rev. James Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf’s Cross Roads Church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
