Julius Augustus Jr., son of Julius Augustus (1893 - 1957) & Ada (Hornburger) Phillips (1895-1984) was born in Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA, on 20 Dec 1927. At the age of 59, he died in Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA, on 1 Feb 1987. Julius Augustus Jr. was buried in Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury, Stonington, Northumberland County, PA, on 4 Feb 1987. Place of Service, United Lutheran Church R. D. 4, Sunbury, PA. Officiating: The Rev. Vitolds Gobins. Interment Northumberland Memorial Park (Garden of Repose).

Julius A. Phillips
SUNBURY - Julius A. Phillips, 59, Sunbury RD4, died Sunday morning in Sunbury Community Hospital. Born in Rockefeller Township Dec. 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Julius and Ada (Hornberger) Phillips. He married the former Mildred Bressler in 1947. At the time of his death, he was employed at Celotex Corp., Sunbury, where he had been employed for the past 30 years.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Mrs. Anna M. Flowers and George W., both of Sunbury, Julius A. III of Edgewater, N.J., and Mrs. Laura R. Everett of Hopewell, VA.; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Brosious and Mrs. Anna Bartholomew, both of Sunbury. One sister preceded him in death.
A public viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4. A funeral and burial will be conducted privately Wednesday. Donations may be made to the memorial fund of the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4. Funeral arrangements were made by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury
On 1 Oct 1947 when Julius Augustus Jr. was 19, he married Mildred Louise BRESSLER, daughter of Henry BRESSLER & Anna Idessa MAHLON, in Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA., First Reformed Church. Mildred Louise was born in Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA, on 18 Jun 1931.

Miss Bressler Wed to Julius A. Phillips
Miss Mildred L. Bressler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Bressler, 1049 Wolverton Street, became the bride of Julius Augustus Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius A. Phillips, of Sunbury R. D. 1, in a ceremony performed at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday in first Reformed Church by Rev. Charles W. Buffington, the pastor [1 Oct 1947].
The couple was attended by Elwood Clayberger and Miss Anna Clement, both of Sunbury R. D. 1. The ushers were John H. Brown, this city, brother-in-law of the bride, and Henry W. Bressler, brother of the bride. Nelson Suffel was organist, and Mrs. Mildred Mahlon, an aunt of the bride, sang “I Love You Truly” and “O, Promise Me.” The bride was given in marriage by her brother, George Bressler. Members of the immediate families and friends witnessed the nuptial. The bride and bridesmaid both wore suits. The bride carried yellow rose buds and the bridesmaid pom pom’s.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the groom’s sister, Mrs. Dorothy Brosious, Catawissa Avenue, after which the young couple left on a wedding trip. Mrs. Phillips is a member of the junior class of Sunbury High School and has been employed at the soda fountain of Walker’s Drug Store. Mr. Phillips, formerly employed by the Sunbury Milk Products company, entered the army three months ago, and is home on furlough from Fort Jackson, S C., en route to a new assignment in California. He will leave this city October 14.
Prior to the wedding little Sandra Kay Bressler, a niece of the bride, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Bressler, was baptized by Rev. Buffington. Four generations of the family were represented the child, her mother, her grandmother, Mrs. Anna Bressler and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mahlon.
They had the following children:

iii. George Walter PHILLIPS (1954-)
iv. Laura Ruth PHILLIPS (1957-)
