The east face of the marker is engraved:

DIED SEPT. 15, 1865
AGED 66 years 9 mo & 22 days
This grave is in the west cemetery section, in the third row, counting from the west wall of the Salem Lutheran Church. It is in a family plot area, located next to several other Greenawalt markers.
