First "Father of the House", Constitutional Convention delegate, helped draft the first Pennsylvania constitution, ruling elder in the local Reformed Presbyterian Church, member of the American Philisophical Society, author.

William Findley (1741-1821) served as Captain in the Revolution and after the war was a member of Congress for so many terms from Westmoreland County he was known as the "Father of Congress".

William Findley (1741-1821) was a member of the convention that ratified the constitution, and was a Captain of Pennsylvania milita. He was born in Ireland, and died in Westmoreland Co, PA.

William Findley (1741-1821) commanded a company in the 8th Battalion, Cumberland County PA militia, 1778. He was born in Ireland; died in Unity, PA.

Vol 118, pg 297
William Findley (1741-1821) commanded a company in the 8th Battalion, Cumberland County Pennsylvania militia. He was born in Ireland and died near Greensburg PA.
