A UNION CIVIL WAR MAJOR IN CO.C,46TH PA. VOL. PRIOR TO THE CIVIL WAR HE WAS A 2ND LT. WYO. ART. DURING THE MEXICAN WAR. HE WAS A VICTIM OF FRIENDLY FIRE DURING THE CIVIL WAR AND WAS KILLED NEAR DARNESTOWN,MARYLAND BY PVT.JOHN LANEHAN A MAMBER OF HIS REGIMENT WHO WAS LATER HANGED FOR THE KILLING.
