David Beers was a resident of Juniata county his entire life. His father, John Beers owned a foundry and held patents on two plows and two water wheels. David Beers worked at the foundry.



The subject of this sketch was born March 12, 1846, and died June 6, 1929, aged 83 years, 2 months and 24 days. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. E. E. Smith and Samuel C. of Wobasso, Fla, Lemuel W. of Millerstown, John L. of Cocolamus; Mrs. Charles Schell of Cocolamus, and Mrs. E. L. Rupert of Pittsburgh, 28 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his wife and three children.

He was for many years engaged in the foundry business. He has been a member of the Church of the Brethren for 48 years.

Funeral services were held from the home of his son, L. W. Beers of Millerstown, with whom he made his home. Services we4re conducted by his pastor, Rev. C. E. Grapes, assisted by Rev. B. F. Lightner.
