Sports a la carte - Good friend Alvin W. Carpenter, esteemed Sunbury attorney and community leader who died earlier this week, maintained an abiding interest in young people in general and athletes in particular during his life-time. He always told this scribbler he cherished his opportunity to play high school (Sunbury) and college (SU) football under the late george O. (Kid) Stahl, a regional coaching legend whose techniques and ideas were way ahead of his time (1915-1930 era).
