John Caleb Gates was the grandfather of my great grandmother, Isabella (Zentmyer) Kinch. The Zentmyers were from Huntingdon Furnace in Huntingdon County and she married David Kinch, also from Huntingdon Furnace. He was a blacksmith for the PRR in Altoona for years and was the 2nd Mayor of Altoona in 1871.
