(Served as Pvt., Co. B, 202nd Pa. Vol. Inf.,Sept. 2. 1864 to August 3, 1865. John was born in August of 1842 in Juniata County, and married Malinda J. Kepner. John died in Cross Keys, Juniata County, on 11 October 1931, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura Thatcher. He was a merchant in Lack Twp., served as postmaster at Lack Post Office, and served as an elder of the Cross Keys Presbyterian Church for many years.)
